I’m Shannon!
I’m the person behind The Social Stuff.
I’ve spent my career working in marketing and communications, helping businesses and organisations figure out what they want to say, how they want to show up and, most importantly, how to connect with the people behind the screen. I started The Social Stuff because I wanted to bring all of that experience to small businesses in a way that feels personal, creative and genuinely useful.
Over the years, the tools have changed, the trends have shifted and the algorithms never stop moving, but two things have stayed the same: you’re busy running your business, and I’m passionate about the social stuff.
The idea for The Social Stuff actually came to me while I was sitting on a beach with my best friend, talking about how business owners are constantly doing everything. Running the show, looking after customers, managing people and juggling the everyday chaos. Social media becomes another job on an already very long list.
And I remember saying out loud: I have this idea for business owners. They handle business. I’ll handle the social stuff.
I’m based in Stoke-on-Trent, a place I absolutely love calling home. I’m especially passionate about working with local businesses and the brilliant people behind them. So if you’re a fellow Stokie, I already can’t wait to hear what you’re building!
When I’m not working, I’m a mum to my five-year-old boy, Travis, and dog mum to Teddy and Tinker. I love gardening, reading, Fleetwood Mac, anything creative and all things spiritual. I’m happiest when I’m making something, coming up with new ideas or probably rearranging a houseplant for the hundredth time.
Now, I get to do work I genuinely love with brilliant people doing brilliant things.
